KEYNOTE SPEAKER HIGHLIGHT: Bryan Cotton, MD, MPH, FACS

Dr. Bryan Alan Cotton is a Professor at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth and the Director of the Surgical Critical Care Fellowship Program as well. He is also Co-Director of the Shock–Trauma ICU at Memorial Hermann Hospital.

Dr. Cotton earned his Medical Degree at Ross University School of Medicine in Edison, NJ. He completed his residency in General Surgery at the University of Missouri Hospital & Clinics in Columbia, MO, and his fellowship in Trauma & Surgical Critical Care at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania & Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia in Philadelphia, PA.

Dr. Cotton later earned his Master of Public Health at Vanderbilt University, Nashville, TN. Dr. Cotton’s research areas include optimizing the management of hemorrhagic shock, establishing best practices for massive transfusion protocol activations, and early detection and treatment of the acute coagulopathy of trauma.

  • “A Decade’s Work in Radically Transforming Trauma Resuscitation of Hemorrhage” on Saturday, May 4th from 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm
  • “Predicting Futility in Severely Injured Children and Adults: Using Arrival Lab Values and Physiology to Support Evidence-Based Resource Stewardship” on Sunday, May 5th from 8:00 am – 9:00 am.
