Update from the Arkansas Chapter, American College of Surgeons
Dear Members of the Arkansas Chapter of the American College of Surgeons,
Recognizing the stress that all members were enduring, the Arkansas Chapter suspended its usual activities until the COVID epidemic became more under control and restrictions were lifted. During the same time, the Arkansas Chapter Administrator of many years resigned. We wish Linda the very best and honor her for her years of service!
President Dr. Matthew Steliga and the other officers have reviewed Chapter policies/procedures and evaluated other management support teams. Synergistic Management is grateful for the opportunity to work with the Arkansas Chapter, ACS, as we strive to serve and represent our members.
Thank you if you have paid your Chapter dues! If you have not, you will continue to receive reminders for the next few weeks.
The major issue at hand involves the AR-ACS Bylaws. The AR-ACS Bylaws have not been updated since 1982. Following the recommended template from the ACS and in compliance with Arkansas State law, the AR-ACS Executive Committee proposes that the Chapter adopt the attached updated Bylaws. A virtual vote to consider the Bylaws will be held thirty days hence.
Should you have questions/concerns, please do not hesitate to contact Dr. Steliga MASteliga@uams.edu or the management team at wanda@arkansasacs.org.
